Halloween 2014

Despite the freezing temperatures, we had another fantastic Halloween! Finn and Carter dressed up as fishermen, Colin was a shark and Everett revamped an old costume of Olive's, to dress up as a bumble bee (with a magic wand of course!). Owen was a giraffe.

Here they are, our motley crew:
Finley, Colin, Owen, Everett, Carter

Oldest, youngest.

For the second year in a row, not only has my mom planned fun Halloween themed snacks, but she has the patience to make them with up to fifty little fingers, enthusiastically helping! The boys love this part of what is fast becoming Halloween tradition!

"Can we go yet? Can we go yet? Can we go yet?!"

***Also friends, I lost my phone almost a week and a half ago. I'm so sorry if you've tried to text or call me and I haven't responded! I likely won't have a phone for another couple weeks so if you need to reach me, e-mail me :-)

12 Month Photo Project- October

Getting out my camera to capture the boys, each month

(For this month, I chose pictures taken at the pumpkin farm this past week.)

Happy Halloween Everyone! We are planning on decorating the house, making spooky food and trick or treating (of course!) later today. Colin is going to be a shark, the triplets are going to be fishermen and Owen is going to be either a pumpkin or a giraffe. We are looking forward to it!

Post Family Farm

Dear Boys-

This week, your Dad has a very busy week at work. Still, we need pumpkins! So last night, I took you guys to Post Family Farm and we rode a tractor out to the pumpkin patch. Afterwards, we rode rides, ponies and enjoyed donuts and cider. Although we missed having your Daddy with us, we had the best time! The weather couldn't have been more perfect. I think it was 78 degrees to be exact!

If I haven't said it lately, I love being your mom. Each one of you is so special and so fun to be with! I'm so glad your mine.

The pumpkins were so picked over, that it was hard to find any that weren't rotten. That didn't diminish the boys enthusiasm though!

Owen. Though he looks unsure about the pony ride, I assure you, he loved it once the pony started moving!
Everett.

While the boys went on big boy rides, Owen clapped and cheered from the sidelines. This kid loves watching his big brothers!
Finn, going down the big slide, was a big deal. I love the look of pride and excitement on his face!

It's almost Halloween!!......

as Carter has been cryptically saying lately..... although it sounds more like,

"It's allllmost Halloweeeeeennnn!"

First though, I should tell you that I'm a sleep deprived hot mess right now. I cannot be responsible for any spelling errors or tangential thoughts. Fun fact about me: As a child, I used to have my mom pick me up from sleepovers before midnight, just so I wouldn't be tired the next day. Staying up all night was never my cup of tea. Even in college, I never, ever, pulled an all nighter. I hate to be tired and have always required at least 8 hours of sleep. Oh the irony!! I feel like I haven't sleep in years, really. I've got five wonderful reasons to not have had a good night sleep but still.... what I wouldn't give for 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep!

So, this last week has not been good in the sleep department. But we still managed to enjoy a few pre-Halloween festivities this weekend and those were really fun!

First up was a costume parade at Colin's school.

Our attempt at a family picture.
It was a really fun night and what made it even more fun, was that my parents could be there with us.

On Saturday, we went to Treats and Trails at our local Outdoor Discovery Center. This is the second year that we've gone and I think it will be a tradition that continues. Think nature trails at sunset, trick or treating, hot chocolate, s'mores, and other kid centered activities.  It's so much fun!

Ready to hit the trails!

S'more pit stop!

Yummmm....
Also, it seems like only yesterday when Colin wore this giraffe costume. When I went back to see if their was a picture of Colin in this outfit, I couldn't believe the resemblance.
